Role Purpose

The Sr. Enterprise Network Architecture Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise-wide networking, security, and telephony solutions to ensure reliable connectivity and optimal performance of IT services. This role involves recommending, developing, configuring, and optimizing both new and existing network and telecommunications technologies. The position requires strong multitasking capabilities to manage priorities across help desk tickets, daily operational tasks, and strategic projects. Collaboration is key to working closely with cross-functional technology teams and global business units to deliver seamless solutions. Success in this role demands flexibility, excellent communication skills, and a diplomatic, positive approach to problem-solving. As part of the IT Infrastructure & Operations team, the specialist contributes to shaping and executing the I&O strategy, ensuring alignment with enterprise IT objectives and enabling the delivery of capabilities that drive business success.

 

Major Responsibilities and Activities

  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise network components including firewalls, routers, switches, wireless access points, VPN gateways, and related hardware/software.
  • Perform evaluation, testing, and deployment of network upgrades to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Proactively monitor network devices and services using advanced tools to maintain high availability and compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Collect and analyze network utilization data for capacity planning and performance optimization.
  • Independently manage large-scale network projects from low-level design through implementation and support.
  • Provide remote technical support during escalations and extended hours.
  • Configure and verify advanced network technologies including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, IPSEC).
  • Apply advanced knowledge of switching concepts (VLAN, STP, Port Security), WAN topologies, and IP addressing schemes (VLSM, summarization).
  • Deliver expert-level support for Cisco architectures: Switching & Wireless, Data Center (UCS, Nexus, NetApp, VMware), and Collaboration (CUCM, UCCX, Unity).
  • Administer and troubleshoot Fortinet Security Fabric and Cisco Meraki cloud-managed devices.
  • Manage ASA with Firepower & FMC and configure Fortinet firewall stacks.
  • Implement security measures including content filtering, threat protection, and advanced malware protection (AMP).
  • Ensure robust security posture through firewall, proxy, and RADIUS server administration.
  • Optimize network performance and enforce security policies across LAN/WAN environments.
  • Maintain disaster recovery plans and participate in testing and validation exercises.
  • Respond to Service Desk tickets promptly, providing escalated support to resolve complex issues.
  • Manage and troubleshoot service interruptions affecting LAN, Wi-Fi, MPLS, Internet, and VPN connectivity.
  • Provide 24x7 On-Call support on a rotational basis and assist during after-hours maintenance as required.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for network devices, configurations, and operational procedures.
  • Interface with vendors for procurement, maintenance, and technical support of network platforms.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams and global business units to ensure alignment with enterprise IT strategy.
  • Ability to travel locally and internationally as needed.
  • Maintain flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and extended hours during critical incidents or projects.

 

Minimum Qualifications, Formal Education, Certification or Equivalent

Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM.

  • Cisco CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure (or CCIE Security for advanced security)
  • Fortinet NSE 8
  • ITIL 4 Strategic Leader
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • HashiCorp Terraform Associate)

 

Working Experience – Nature & Length

  • 8+ years of proven hands-on experience managing, monitoring, troubleshooting and resolving network connectivity, stability and performance issues
  • Proven Experience in Handling activities on core Networking (Fortinet, ASA Firewall, Cisco Meraki Cloud Managed Network Devices] Wi-Fi Solutions, IP Telephony, Video Conferencing and Unified Communication Solutions.
