RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of quality engineering, statistical process control, advanced quality planning, PPAP and TS16949 activities, quality lab activities 
  • Educate/mentor team and drive lean concepts and WPS using the toolbox
  • Drive out waste through VSM, 5Q or LTR activities.
  • Management Representative (MR) and Customer Representative (CR) for TS16949
  • Plan, promote and organize training activities related to product quality and reliability, TS16949 and material testing 
  • Supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Woodbridge's policies & procedures and applicable government laws, bylaws, and legislation. 
  • Customer & Supplier liaison 
  • Supervise the Implementation and maintenance of the IMDS program 
  • Investigate and resolve Supplier and Customer concerns or problems 
  • Continuous improvement of quality systems and methods
  • Maintenance of quality records 
  • Maintains the quality budget
  • Supervisor the implementation and maintenance of the SPC program (QI Analyst) 
  • Ability to prepare and present reports and presentations for management or publication
  • Aggressively investigate, propose, and manage cost savings opportunities
  • Manage the Kamishibai audit system
  • Implement, maintain, and control the master document list and database 
  • Coordinate internal quality auditing system
  • A member of the management team with responsibility for planning, health/safety, budgeting and implementing TQM and best methods.

 

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS: 

 

Education:

 

  • College diploma or university degree in the technical fields of science or engineering

 

Experience: 

  • 5 to 8 years quality related experience and/or training, in progressively more responsible positions, preferably in an automotive manufacturing environment
  • 2 to 3 years supervisory/managerial experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Background in automotive quality systems and TS16949 preferred
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Employee development/mentoring and team building; relationship building / Customer focused
  • Computer literate and proficient in common software packages.  e.g. MS Office
  • Demonstrated blueprint reading and interpretation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and communicate an extensive variety of technical instructions and specifications
  • Understanding of problem-solving techniques; decision making and ability to mentor others

  • Leadership skills and interpersonal skills with the ability to share and transfer knowledge and skills to / with others.
  • Dependable and self-motivated individual with good attendance / disciplinary and safety record who can work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Detail orientated individual with excellent thinking and trouble-shooting skills; able to make decisions based on information and analysis.
  • Ability to work weekends, alternate shifts and flex hours as required.
  • Some math and computer skills are essential to perform job duties.
