Role Purpose:

 

Performs minor and major repairs to all production and facility related equipment. These repairs include instrumentation, electrical, electro-mechanical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop PLC based control system for machinery and industrial processes.
  • Create detailed schematics and wiring diagrams using auto cad.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and rectify machine, facility and process problems.
  • Complete machine Preventative Maintenance duties as scheduled
  • Utilize electrical test equipment for troubleshooting electrical systems to determine corrective actions and repairs
  • Provide ongoing support and maintenance for PLC systems and electrical.
  • Provide training to other electricians and mechanics
  • Keep area neat, organized and clean as well as follow 5S principles as they are appropriate.
  • Participate in health & safety and quality audit process.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming languages (Ladder Logic, Structured Text, etc.).
  • Diagnose and repair faults in control systems to minimize downtime.
  • Perform regular inspections and preventative maintenance on control systems.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation, including system specifications, operation manuals, and maintenance logs.
  • Stay updated with advancements in PLC technology and control systems.
  •  Create electrical systems and components based on project requirements. Develop circuit designs, schematics, and layouts using CAD software.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with 3 years or associated degree with 6 years field experience.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software, circuit design, and simulation tools. Knowledge of microcontrollers, PLCs, and embedded systems.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Ability to analyze complex technical data and develop innovative solution
  • Ability to read and interpret documents and training materials such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills are required. 
  • Must have the ability to work with basic mathematical concepts, fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions in practical situations.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, 5S, and Kaizen is a plus.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
