Major Responsibilities and Activities:

  • Provide support for Corporate Research and Development group performing laboratory sample preparation and pouring activities
  • Analyze and report lab scale findings to senior technical staff
  • Assist in manufacturing facility scale up activities/industrialization for given projects
  • Performing pre-analytical procedures and laboratory pours
  • Handling of chemicals per health and safety protocols
  • Sorting, allocating, and delivering specimens to workstations and loading onto laboratory instruments, as required
  • Operating laboratory instruments and machinery, as required
  • Receiving, unpacking, and sorting incoming specimens
  • Participating in basic quality control procedures and inventory management
  • Maintaining good record-keeping practices while adhering to quality and safety programs
  • Maintaining accuracy and calibration of laboratory testing equipment
  • Performing routine inspections on laboratory equipment to determine when maintenance is required
  • Using relevant computer software programs to collect or input data and information

 

Minimum Qualifications, Formal Education, Certification or Equivalent

  • One to two years of related experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of quality requirements
  • Good communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills
  • Basic computer knowledge required
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, 5S, and Kaizen is a plus
  • Basic knowledge of organic chemistry or experience working with chemicals
  • Advanced Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in a technical area
