Major Responsibilities and Activities:
- Manager packaging for awarded business from quote to final payment. Manage many projects at the same time. This includes raising ARs and obtaining approvals. This includes both inbound containers for components and outbound containers for finished products. Obtain quotes from suppliers, issue POs and manage the projects until completion
- Perform pack trials in plants. Cushions, headrests, armrests, headliner products, formed plastics, engine assemblies, and rear axle assemblies. Visit plants to review packaging issues
- Calculate container requirements. Quote and negotiate packaging costs and timing to meet Woodbridge's commitment. Assist Corporate Purchasing with packaging and freight quotes for inbound components
- Track usage of inbound containers and maintenance of inbound containers
- Design packaging for all B.U.’s (cardboard, plastic, steel)
- Negotiate packaging requirements and price, and maintenance responsibility with customers. Resolving supply chain shortages with suppliers, plants and customers
Preferred Qualifications:
- University degree or college certificate required as a minimum – ex. Mechanical Engineering Technology (CET) or Mechanical Engineer (or equivalent in experience)
- 5 years-experience in Packaging (Automotive industry preferred)
- Proficient in Excel
- CAD experience
- Experience in multiple packaging materials (cardboard, plastic, metal)
