DESCRIPTION:   

Directs all activities in the Quality Department resulting in development and maintenance of a TS/IATF16949 / ISO compliant system as required by the customer. Ensure that customer requirements, corporate and Quality Systems are properly understood and implemented in our organization. This position also holds the Management Responsibility and Voice of the Customer duties for the Quality System that our organization is registered to.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Primary focus of this position is to cost effectively manage the Quality function to ensure that the customer quality requirements are met.
  • Planning and coordination of new product launches, including all phases of Advance Quality Planning, PPAP and IMDS submissions.
  • Work closely with customer, operating groups and suppliers to resolve quality related issues through effective root cause problem solving techniques, manage and monitor results of the customer’s/supplier’s scorecard.
  • Develop, implement and maintain quality procedures and processes in conformance to automotive quality standards.
  • Provide quality related technical advice based off of industry AIAG or customer specific standards to resolve quality matters and ensure continuous improvement.
  • Supervision of quality activities and personnel.
  • Facilitates the Key Measurable system.
  • Guides colleagues in the practices required for a viable quality system.
  • Participates and supports Core Team audits.
  • Facilitates all Internal Audits and Auditor training to ensure the plant has a fully compliant quality system.
  • Responsible for elements in the HS&E program

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B.S/B.A.) from four-year college or university; technical degree and/or commensurate Quality Functional experience required. Appropriate amount of experience related to the ISO/IATF/TS-16949 standards is required.


Skills:

  • Capable of developing, coaching, and mentoring a quality team in a plant environment which will meet and or exceed customer expectations.
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Computer literate, ability to work in spreadsheet and word processing coupled with knowledge of AIAG Manuals and Quality systems.

 

Working Conditions: Majority of time in plant environment with occasional plant tours and travel as needed. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Working Schedule:  Standard work hours will consist of 10 hours per day, 4 days a week on an assigned shift.  Schedule hours may be altered as required by the training needs of employees.  Ability to work overtime or irregular hours to include Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays as requested.

 

Reasoning Ability:  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
