RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Contribute as a key member of the plant management team.
- Own and drive assigned KPI, Goals, Performance Management expectations
- Manage the materials function including scheduling of production and maintenance of optimum raw materials and finished goods inventory levels.
- Supervise materials department including HS&E functions, as assigned by the WKFP HS&E Appendix A, as well as assigned WPS tasks.
- Management of warehousing, shipping and receiving activities.
- Analysis and interpretation of customer releases.
- Perform MRP and generate vendor releases.
- Optimization of freight cost.
- Responsible for AS400 information and liaison with IT department.
- Responsible for department operating budget.
- Responsible for implementation of safe work practices.
- Provide backup coverage for shipping and receiving, as needed.
- Lead and monitor cycle count frequency, accuracy, recounts, adjustments and investigation of issues until resolved.
- Leads, coordinates in conjunction with Finance and all departments preparation and execution of Physical Inventory
- Participate and Lead in Audits and Assessments – IATF / ISO14001 / Internal HSE etc
- Participate in APQP process
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- Knowledge and skills of computerized materials scheduling and inventory control including kanban scheduling techniques, production scheduling, purchasing, traffic and warehouse functions including shipping and receiving in a JIT environment.
- Knowledge of ERP systems such as AS400, Epicor or other similar systems.
- Strong proficiency with database applications and administration systems, specifically Microsoft Office.
- Strong interpersonal, communication (verbal and written) and supervisory skills.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
- Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints.
- Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
- Tier 1 automotive experience to OEM (Toyota, Ford, GM, Rivian)
- Direct experience with customer portals - Covisint, eDDL, SupplyPower, ts.com and Ascent
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience in Operations and/or Supply Chain Management.
- Five years of experience as a Materials Supervisor/Manager or a related role in tier 1 environment.
