Maintenance Electrician

Role Purpose:

 

Performs major and minor repairs to all production and facility related equipment. These repairs include machinery and mechanical equipment such as motors, pneumatic controls, conveyors systems production machines and equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Duties of the position are not limited to, but will include: Wiring to print and troubleshooting of low voltage AC/DC circuits and PLC components input/output devices. AC/DC drive motor troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Maintenance of robotic manipulators, high-bay lighting, machine annunciators, warning lights and horns/bells as well as machine limits.
  • Fabrication and installation of new conduit and wiring, plumbing, hose and metal tubing installation.
  • General welding, cutting, sheet metal fabrication, machine lubrication, replacement of input/output devices, basic motor wiring and replacement will be routinely assigned duties.
  • Maintenance employees will be fully trained on HAZMAT and act as members of the Emergency Response Team for the purpose of maintaining and replacing chemical processing and handling equipment.
  • Implementation of Pro-Active Scheduled Maintenance including check lists and inventory maintenance and other duties as assigned by management.
  • Follow all general safety regulations and use provided safety equipment as required.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and rectify machine, facility and process problems.
  • Complete machine Preventative Maintenance duties as scheduled.
  • Troubleshooting electrical systems and equipment to determine corrective actions and repairs.
  • Help maintain inventory control of parts and equipment.
  • Work with other maintenance employees to learn more trouble shooting methods and skills.
  • Keep area neat, organized and clean as well as follow 5S principles as they are appropriate.
  • Cross train in other positions as required.
  • Ability to perform and train all members of assigned team job skills.
  • Assist in maintenance planning tasks including providing materials.
  • Inspect work that is in progress.
  • Inspect completed work.
  • Provide feedback to maintenance technicians about quality, quantity of work as well as clean up.
  • Assist maintenance technicians with maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Complete appropriate paperwork, inspection forms, preventative maintenance Work Orders including hot work permits.
  • Make recommendations for improvements in the department and plant machinery, equipment and processes.
  • Maintain high safety standards on the job site and anywhere in the plant where maintenance work is being performed.
  • Focus on long term machinery and process improvements though everyday Kaizen activities.
  • Inspect job sites and equipment for safe operation utilizing RADAR procedures and other non-formal inspection processes.

Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree coupled with two years of technical training is preferred 
  • Ten years of industrial maintenance experience
  • Ten years of electrical maintenance experience          
  • Experience in 480 volt, 227 volt, 120 volt as well as low voltage electrical system in an industrial environment
  • Experience in plant main power distribution systems
  • Experience programming, modifying and troubleshooting Allen Bradley, Ladder Logic, and Siemens PLCs
