PURPOSE:  To perform all duties, as needed for the Production.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Responsible for overseeing all aspects of manufacturing including, molding and final assembly processes to ensure a quality product is produced to customer specifications.
  • Assessing employees’ capabilities and providing training to employees in all aspects of equipment, material, quality requirements, paperwork, and processes.
  • Ensure the quality of all shipped product meets the customer’s requirements and ensure that all aspects of the quality system related to production are followed.
  • Ensure operating policies and procedures are observed and communicated to all personnel.
  • Promote lean manufacturing throughout all areas.
  • Develop standardize work methods for all processes.
  • Implement, maintain, and enhance 5S systems.
  • Manage all shift supervisors / process techs / lead hands and provide leadership, guidance and support in all areas concerning production, scheduling, quality issues and employee relations.
  • Active participation in the plant safety and responsible for ensuring all safety concerns related to production and housekeeping are addressed.
  • Responsible for Health, Safety & Environment areas as assigned.
  • Other related duties as assigned

 JOB REQUIREMENTS: 

 Education:  Minimum of five years production management experience within manufacturing

Experience:

  • Minimum of five years progressive experience in a manufacturing environment, including at least two years at the supervisory level, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Strong communication and demonstrable organizational and leadership skills
  • Candidates must be able to demonstrate supervisory/managerial skills, including planning, leading, delegating, cost center management including budgeting, cost reduction plans, and customer quality requirements.
  • Knowledge of the requirements of collective agreements as applicable and health, safety and environment and employment legislation.
  • Good computer skills are an asset.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, 5S, and Kaizen

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Leadership skills and interpersonal skills with the ability to share and transfer knowledge and skills to / with others.
  • Dependable and self-motivated individual with good attendance / disciplinary and safety record who can work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Detail orientated individual with excellent thinking and trouble-shooting skills; able to make decisions based on information and analysis.
  • Some math and computer skills are essential to perform job duties.
