ROLE PURPOSE:
Reporting to the plant manager, the Controller will manage the financial functions of the facility, and will supervise Accountant(s) and/or Accounting Clerk(s). Responsible for managing all financial reporting, budget, forecasting, payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable. Being strategic, trusted advisor and business partner to the plant manager
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage financial functions including cost and general accounting activities, product costing and capacity planning, and time studies.
- Analysis of operating costs and variances.
- Provides management with timely reviews of organization’s financial status and progress in its various programs and activities.
- Maintenance and improvements to various accounting systems.
- Maintenance and development of forecasting and budgeting models.
- Timely, accurate preparation of special studies and projects.
- Supervision of staff.
- Manage payroll system, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assets.
- Member of Management Team responsible for planning, budgeting and implementing TQM and Best Methods Program.
- Maintain audit binders and associated completion & reporting.
- Work directly with external auditors.
- Arranges for audits of company accounts, prepares reports required by regulatory agencies, and completes fiscal year-end audit binder.
DIRECT REPORTS: Accounting department.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree plus five years of relevant, industrial experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Monthly forecast and results reporting, annual budget preparation and semi-annual performance reviews.
