MACHINE OPERATOR - 2nd Shift

 

This job description reflects managements’ assignment of essential functions.  It does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned.

 

Summary

Provides support to assure the accurate, timely and quality delivery of components to customers.             

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The duties of the Machine Operator include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Understand all requirements for Personal Protective Equipment, machine guarding, and other safety requirements; and comply with each applicable to position assigned.
  • Review all customer guidelines for quality and special conditions for supply of production components. Maintain ongoing understanding of all changes to and/or updates to production processes and customer specifications.
  • Complete manufacturing assembly utilizing standardized work, torque tools, drills, taps, and other automated tools. Mechanical aptitude required in discerning customer specs and applying operating instructions.
  • Assist other manufacturing colleagues as needed to complete customer orders.
  • Maintain work area to 5S standards for organization, housekeeping and inspection. Assist colleagues as needed to support 5S .
  • Be actively involved with Continuous Improvement Program and participate in Kaizen events as scheduled.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by shift supervisor.  

 

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Must be able to stand on feet for 8 or more hours.
  • Must have ability to use both hands for assembling product.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed.
  • Must be flexible with scheduling.
  • Good Attendance

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents and training materials such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions as well as procedure manuals. Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills are required.

 

Mathematical Skills

Basic math skills required to include addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of numbers, decimal and fractions.

 

Reasoning Ability

A successful employee would have the capability to decide the safest and most cost-effective manner to perform daily activities and have the understanding to ask for help or direction on any said function that he or she isn’t completely sure of. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.   Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

ATTENDANCE / Work Schedule

Standard work hours will consist of eight hours per day, five days per week on an assigned shift.

 

Schedule hours may be altered as required by business conditions. This may be more (or less) than eight hours per day or five days per week. An ability to work overtime or irregular hours to include Saturdays, Sundays and holidays is essential for this position.

 

 

2nd Shift:            2:15pm – 10:30pm
